Voting for the first time was exciting. I knew which party I wanted to vote for, but once I was in the voting booth, it became clear that I also had to choose an individual candidate. Prepare yourself well, because you are not only voting for a party, but also for a person. Know that your vote counts; with your vote, you represent yourself. In this democratic country, your vote can really make a difference, both positive and negative.

A former asylum seeker himself, he founded the Ykeallo Foundation to assist young people from East Africa with language, practical matters and their active participation in society. Through his work, he helps newcomers find their place and participate fully in Dutch society.
